Where Experience Meets Transformation

I am Helen Williams, a former UK detective with 34 years of frontline investigative experience across the UK, Northern Ireland, and the British Overseas Territories. Today, I provide trauma-informed coaching, specialist consultancy, and professional training for individuals, universities, and organisations seeking clarity, confidence, and expert guidance. I work with people navigating career transitions, recovering from coercive or harmful relationships, and rebuilding after significant life changes. I also support professionals in policing, safeguarding, education, and emergency services who require specialist training in interviewing, offender psychology, and child protection. My work bridges lived experience, investigative expertise, and evidence-based psychological insight, offering a rare combination of practical knowledge and human understanding.

Confidentiality

I treat every conversation with the utmost respect and complete privacy. Confidentiality is a professional responsibility I take seriously.

‎Resilience

Resilience is not just something I teach — it is something I have lived. That strength underpins how I support others.

From Detective to Empowerment Specialist: My Mission

My career began in policing, where I worked as a detective dealing with homicide investigations, domestic abuse, safeguarding, and child protection cases. I spent decades interviewing offenders and victims, supporting families through trauma, and witnessing firsthand the devastating impact of coercion, violence, and manipulation. Alongside my professional experience, I have personal lived experience of coercive control, which reshaped my understanding of how intelligent, capable individuals can become trapped in harmful relationships. My mission now is to use both my investigative background and my personal insight to help others rebuild their confidence, restore their identity, and navigate complex systems with strength and clarity. Through further study in neuroscience psychology and mental health, clinical hypnotherapy training, and nervous system regulation techniques, I continue to deepen my approach so that my work remains informed, ethical, and transformative.

Coaching

My coaching is grounded in real-life experience, psychological understanding, and practical strategy. I support people navigating career transitions, relationship recovery, and personal change, helping them rebuild confidence, regain clarity, and move forward with strength. My approach is calm, structured, and trauma-informed, focused on empowering you to make clear decisions and create lasting change.

Teaching and Guidance

I provide specialist teaching and professional guidance informed by over three decades of frontline investigative experience. Whether lecturing at universities or supporting organisations, I deliver clear, engaging, and evidence-based insight into human behaviour, safeguarding, and professional practice. My focus is always on raising standards, strengthening understanding, and equipping others with knowledge they can apply confidently.
